We always stop when coming through. Never disappointed, staff is great. Food is good. Walk the dogs and get gas too.
Prices were fair, waitress was spot on and the Mexican bacon burger was excellent, thick, and juicy. I was really surprised normally would have kept driving on by
Very friendly staff, good food and good prices!
Hands down, the Best chili cheese fries and sopapillas anywhere!
Just the right amount of food. Just what was needed. Food was great and service was friendly.
We went on new year's day and they were understaffed, but still had a great time. The food was very good at good prices.
Very topical American Style Restaurant. Very cozy with a nice gift section
Very friendly and such a happy staff. Especially enjoyed the young little sister jumping in at the register to ring me up. Very sweet and we will continue to stop in when we are passing through.
Good food.
We stopped here in the way home to Central Texas from Colorado. Location-wise it was about right, and the reviews had some good things to say. Great choice! We had a variety of food and it was all delicious. Frito pie, one with green chili and one with red; nachos, layered hash browns, breakfast tacos, and the Hungry Boy plate. The only drawback was that they had had a rush on this Sunday afternoon and so the food took a little longer than we expected. But... it was worth the wait! I wish we had time and room for pie. We'd definitely stop here again.
Hubby ordered the daily special. It was beef stew with a grilled cheese sandwich... Beef (soup.not stew) no beef, it was COLD....We had to ask for it to be heated up in the microwave even thought it took 35 minutes to get our order. They have no competition because there are no other eateries or gas stations for miles. It was also during a snow storm warning.. Hot food would have been nice. If you want good hot food Keep traveling to the next town. Only stop for gas here.
Great meal and great staff. Would recommend the stop if you are on the road and need somewhere to eat.
Stopped with my wife and 3 kids for lunch on our way from Colorado to Oklahoma. The food was pretty good overall but lacked seasoning. The staff wasn’t rude but they weren’t exactly friendly either. They seemed kind of annoyed we were taking their time away from the locals. I would eat there again if I was hungry and passing by but I wouldn’t make it a point to seek this place out.
Their gas pump spilled everywhere charging us $40 extra. I wanted to buy a water bottle and they took 10 minutes to get back to me to check out. A horrible place with terrible service
Food was horrible and service was just as bad. My co-driver had rolled enchiladas that looked soupy and had ham in them. Yuck
This is a tasty roadside stop on the way from Texas to Colorado. This quaint family run diner features New Mexican and Mexican dishes as well as American traditional meals. Breakfast is served all day. Service is quick and pleasant and food is filling and delicious. 5 stars for a quick non-chain option off of the side of 87
Great hosts! Good food! First reasonable prices since I entered NM.
food wasn't bad, but no soap in the bathroom
The food here is really bland. The young lady at the front counter is really friendly and helpful.
This was a great place to eat. The food was good. Small town atmosphere. Glad we stopped here on our way home today!!!
Best stop between Texas and Colorado. Get the Mexican Steak and homemade chips and salsa. Then burn the calories climbing the Capulin volcano. You'll be glad you did!
food was awesome service was even better great experience if your passing by it a must stop by
Great food plan on stopping there again and awesome service
Good place to stop and eat. Clean bathrooms and good food.
Great food This one time they were out of good stake meat ...They di not want to loose the sale they put any left over meet to mack the Mixecan stake fish We ordered 5 orders all are good bu this one She told her ( no tyene carne ) I do not understand Spanish bu I think I could understand thatGreat Famely Restawrant could be better
This place is awesome :) great service and the food was really good. They have a lot big enough for truck parking. I had the Carne Asada as you can see in the photo.
This place is like an oasis in the middle of nowhere. Long day driving, tired, hungry and needed a place to park for the night boom there it was. Food great, service great, parking for the truck! I'll pop in again for breakfast before I take off in the morning! If you're passing by the area I highly recommend stopping in!
excellent food. clean environment. nice people working there. good prices good food good people
Steak and eggs great. Fast and friendly waitress.
Food I'd great and so is the staff and the view at this places is amazing we stop every chance we get
Stopped here on my road trip from New Mexico to Colorado.I’m wonderfully surprised at this off the beaten path restaurant.Had the sopapilla and it was delicious! My hubby had a cheeseburger and onion rings. The young lady who waiting on us was friendly, welcoming and accommodating
Was about 3 hours from Amarillo, but by the time I got there all that would be open is fast food.. I asked her to separate meat and whatnot(from nachos) that would make it soggy and she said okay.. all that was on side was beans, guac, and green chili (which looks like how they normally do it anyways). Less than half way to where I'm going and the tortilla chips are floppy and simply not good. Ended up throwing it away and getting fast food in amarillo because of lack of choices. Sigh. Would have been fine if they just baked cheese on it and kept the rest separate. It wasn't bad when I first tried it, but not something you can really eat while driving.
The food was pretty good. Busy place so it must be the place to go
Stopped in while on the road to Colorado. The enchilladas were great with a delicious green sauce, and the wife had roast beef and potatoes. All of which was great. Fast and friendly service, Will stop there more often when driving through.
Didn't eat while here but it did smell good. They have allot of beautiful handmade things for decent prices and friendly staff.
None of the employees wore masks even tho it's required by the state. Also the place was covered with flies. We left without ordering along with another family.
This place was FANTASTIC, and the service was great! We had given this guy a ride to this lil mom n pops place to get gas (cause he had ran out) he went in to pay for some gas to put in a gas can I went in behind him to pay for ours (he had done paid for it) but my work partner gave him a ride back to his vehicle I stayed behind and ordered some food and looked at their souvenirs and whatnots. There was a few things that stuck out to me which where HOME/HANDMADE 925 sterling silver jewelry from mother of pearl/opal to turquoise ALL BEAUTIFUL, oh and some handmade bags some w the old Indian styled blanket and some that had Day of the Dead on them all the stuff was great to admire and even came home w a lil gift for myself!! If I’m ever back around I’ll make sure to swing by thanks for everything’s ladies!!
Awesome wait staff and fantastic food! Loved it! Will be goin back there very soon I hope;>)
We stopped in because we wanted to get some Mexican food while in New Mexico and this was the only place for miles. We ordered Mexican steak and stuffed sopapilla. Pretty good food at a pretty good price, but nothing that will make you want to drive all the way out there to get it. But, if you're traveling through, a nice break with friendly staff and customers.
Restaurant was closed for inside eating too hot too sit outside the food was going
This place was disgusting and the gas pump kept on filling as I was in the bathroom, I came out to the pump over flowing and had to end up paying $40 more than I intended. And there was no toilet paper in either restroom the place had non in the store what so ever.
Super nice people great place to take 30min or 10hr break
Mexican food selection is meh, if you order food get southern style or comfort food. The wait staff is hit or miss, they're either attentive or in their own world. The green chili is hot garbage in a bowl.
Good food at good price.
The gas pump doesn’t stop pumping gas. Pumped gas while using the restroom (had no toilet paper and the employees didn’t help) and ended up paying $60 instead of the $20 of gas we needed. This place is disgusting and the employees don’t wear masks. I don’t recommend at all.
My family and I stopped on our way back to Texas. The other three people in my family had burgers and they raved about how delicious and juicy the burgers were. The staff was very friendly and it was definitely a family atmosphere. My only complaint is about my food. I ordered chicken quesadillas WITHOUT green peppers. But when I opened my to-go container it was there. It honestly wouldn't have been too much of a problem if the green peppers were a garnish and not the main flavor in the dish. There were more green peppers than chicken or cheese which is ridiculous because it wasn't even supposed to be included.
Cool little stop! Got a magnet to add to the collection back home 💪
Real breakfast burritos! Affordable gifts. Great stop over.
Food was Excellent, Very Nice People. If you see this restaurant on your route be sure and stop!! You won't be disappointed!!
Good food little bit of truck parking . Gigidy
